His Excellency, General Évariste Ndayishimye, is the 10th President of Burundi, and assumed office in June 2020. He will serve a seven-year term as President, at which point there will be an election.

Évariste was born in 1968 at Musama, Kabanga Zone in Giheta, Gitega Province in Burundi. He and his wife, Madame Angeline Ndayishimiye, have six children – two boys, four girls.
